About Us

Tamar's Restaurant & Wine Bar is Woolwich's home of authentic African, Wine bar dining. Born from a celebrated mobile catering business that served London's events and nightlife scene, we brought our passion for West African flavours to a permanent home on Spray Street. From rich Egusi and Jollof Rice to grilled Tilapia, Suya, and curated wines, every dish celebrates African heritage. We welcome guests from all walks of life — dine in, or order online for delivery and takeaway.

What people are saying

My wife (Nigerian) and I (Welsh) have eaten in at the restaurant and also had a takeaway. I'm pleased to say that both occasions we were very happy with the food. The jollof rice is not saturated in oil but very tasty and the right amount of spice. My wife had efo riro and pounded yam which was a very generous serving. I enjoyed the suya, however, I think a mixed suya would be a great hit.

We plan to revisit the whole family arpund Easter.

Great food but the portion was a bit small for the amala. Just 2 people there on a weekday so it wasn't jam packed.
